HunterNet Chairman’s Awards 2022

On Friday night our CEO Graeme Vennell had the honour of hosting the annual HunterNet Chairman’s Awards where local businesses, industry leaders and emerging talent are recognised.

HunterNet was born out of adversity and necessity in the early 1990s with a recession, the demise of shipbuilding, and the pending steel industry crisis. Realising they needed to diversify and collaborate as a collective to survive, a group of leaders got together to start sharing ideas and which ensured workload, quality, security  and sustainability in the Hunter region.

In the last 10 months, with the appointment of CEO Ivan Waterfield, HunterNet has been on a transformational journey. A new strategic plan has been developed with sights set firmly on 2050 to ensure the regions manufacturing, engineering and specialist services industries are future ready.

Alongside the awards ceremony, HunterNet also celebrated 30 years of operation with a brand revolution and the launch of a name change for HunterNet Group Training arm to HunterNet Career Connections.
