Agitator Hydraulic Drive
Background
A concrete supplier in New Caledonia reached out to Custom Fluidpower to provide a hydraulic solution to switch the agitator hydraulic drive from the onboard pump to an external Hydraulic Power Unit on their concrete trucks.
New Caledonia – a French territory comprising of many smaller islands in the South Pacific – has areas where the roads are too narrow for larger concrete trucks to access.
Solution
To solve for this, the supplier needs to dispense precise measurements of concrete into smaller trucks to deliver to challenging to navigate, regional locations.
Custom Fluidpower engineered a robust solution using a Faster Multicoupler and a Custom Fluidpower Manifold with Sun Hydraulics cartridge valves.
With the system installed, the customer can safely and reliably switch the hydraulic supply from the onboard pump to the external Hydraulic Power Unit by engaging the Faster Multicoupler.
The Faster Multicoupler has an electronic position switch to provide an electrical signal to internally switch oil supply from the onboard pump to the external power unit. The switch ensures the operator can only engage the external oil supply if the external power unit is fully connected.
